It's been ages since I've hosted a lan game...

Can anyone guide me to setting up a home server?

Edit: Nevermind, got it going.

How do LAN games work with the Steam version now?

That would be a question for BackTrak I believe.

I received an answer on Steam, being: they don't (yet) :(

Would love to see a workaround this month. Want to show/play the game on a big lan party.

Do it with the non steam version.

That's not linked anymore. Website link goes directly to Steam...
(And, frankly, I think those LAN guys would rather download a game from steam than anywhere else. So I consider it a big plus that it's on Steam now.)

LoB, I have a todo on my plate to get a steamcmd based server installation working so that people can bring up local servers. This would enable your players to hook up to the steam lobby, then join your on-site server so that they don't run over the internet, and you don't need to worry about local configs, a lobby, client versions, etc. I will try to get this done before your deadline, but if not, I can also provide instructions on setting up a local lobby, server, IIS, etc. It's not pretty, but that's how we have been working on developing the steam release.

Definitely ping me on Discord if you are running out of time and need something faster.

Thanks!

Hey BackTrak, thanks alot! Just to make sure I don't make a wrong impression: I'm not the organizer of the LAN party. I'm only a player/participant. So don't feel urged to change your priorities or anything.
But if you are working on this anyway and I can be beta-tester, that would be win-win I guess :)

Edit: And by posting this, I am registered on this forum for exactly 14 years now. :D

Speaking of servers can we use whatever we were using before steam for the steam build, current servers are really bad... :ninja:
