A lot has changed...

Nostalgia has hit me once again. I think this would be the 4th time that I've pulled out a joystick and decided it's time to take flight again. I remember each time was more glorious than the last...yet I was never able to dogfight well, regardless of my training. All I could do was scouty things...I'm sure that won't change.

I looked at the squad roster to see the new squad formed by fusing Steel Fury and Black Shadow. I recently remembered an old email from Dorjan about how successful the squad was.

When I checked the squad roster...all of the old squads were gone, including this merged squad. I hardly recognize any of the names. It was never this much of a change before when I would take an extended leave. It makes me worried about how many pilots there are remaining to play the game. I hope the game isn't dying.

A lot has changed for me as well...but I don't need to ramble on about myself. I decided to fly under a new name to have a fresh start. I'm sure my rating will catch up to where it should be at some point, but it shouldn't be too far from (0).

As much as I would like to keep my identity hidden to avoid any resurgence of any negative reputation I would have had (mostly for lack of skills), I'm sure somebody will be able to put 2 and 2 together.

Welcome back.

The new squad formations aren't actually that bad. There is a better quality balance, it seems. The community has certainly hit a low point for player count, but it is increasing, not decreasing. Primetimes are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You can usually find a game in the evening, though.

Glad to see another returning vet!

Clearly Tyng is Elzam :ninja:

Welcome back! Basically all that's changed is that we've realized putting core control into the hands of the community is a terrible idea that leads to vanillizing the various factions.

I personally think that it's Black, Guns, Slap, Elzam, and Masta's DNA that was artificially implanted into a test tube embryo, raised by a surrogate gorilla family, and imprinted with their collective memory at age 16.

I don't want that time to be a @#(!-storm of hate and schadenfreude.

Accusing people of being Elzam is how I say hi to people.

Does it begin with a G? Or a V?
