I sure hope it wont be allied, that feature is still as bugged as it has always been, on top of the balance problems that arise in such a game.

I see--I've had some experience with the red team miner bug---very annoying have to micro-manage the miners to come home once full. I'd be willing to help participate in the debugging process. I know that multi-team games aren't the most popular, but for special events, it would be a nice change of pace. Once debugged, a 5 way ffa match might even be kinda interesting (though I'm sure there'd be tons of complaining about cross teaming or what not).
