When does it give you the error? If you can load ACSS at all go to Tools -> ACSS Diagnostics and look for any errors towards the bottom of the diagnostic window.

If you can't get that far, you can look for errors in the output.log or ExceptionLog.txt in the main Alleg folder <install path>/Microsoft Games/Allegiance 1.2

If it happens after you click play online you may also need to check the Allegiance logs at <install path>/Microsoft Games/Allegiance 1.2/Production for errors. These are the *.log files as well as the most recent<datetime>.txt files.

it happens when i click "Play Online".

Update: I tried it 3 times in a row by restarting ACSS and now i can login, but it took very long (like 20 seconds).

Actually I did not think about it but I have also been experiencing this problem on my laptop. I hadn't looked into it yet, but just started experimenting with things and within seconds I discovered that I get that error if I have the BlueStacks android emulator running in the background (minimized but still has notification icon in taskbar). Close that and "Play Online" works fine. This laptop is running Nvidia GeForce GT 330M.

Any chance you have BlueStacks or perhaps some other app running in the background causing issues, probably something that would be using the video card?

For me I can directly open Allegiance fine, just get that error with ACSS. It also works fine in ACSS if I run Allegiance in safe mode (option in ACSS preferences).

seems like it is connected to a chess program ive running from time to time. ACSS starts alleg when i close the chess program but still needs a long time to launch.
