Does anyone still play Allegiance?
You'll have better luck on weekends, especially Sundays. I wouldn't expect any games happening in the early AMs of the Eastern Time Zone.
The highest player turnout I've seen in about a year was maybe a 25v25? Games are more typically around the 5v5 to 12v12 range though. Player activity has gradually diminished over the past couple of years.

Perhaps we should do a bit of marketing to attract some new players. Put some high definition videos/game trailers up on youtube, maybe get some google ads going, do some outreach work on social media sites, etc... This is way too awesome of a game to just let it fade away like this.LA_Cajun wrote:QUOTE (LA_Cajun @ Dec 9 2013, 01:49 PM) You're pretty much guaranteed a game during normal hours on Saturday and Sunday. During the week, you kind of have to get lucky. I haven't had time for weekday gaming lately, but I'm wondering if we can figure out a way to make it better.
I might also recommend modernizing the game a bit in terms of graphics, like adding some higher definition 3d models, textures and special effects to make it visually more appealing to new players who have grown accustomed to fancier looking games (while keeping the lower quality models and textures available for players with lower-end machines). Some sort of integrated "push-to-talk" voice chat feature would also be a welcome improvement (preferably something that uses an external voice chat service so it doesn't put extra strain on the game servers).
Just throwing some ideas out there
That's a great list of ideas there. Now which of those are you volunteering to do? - RaveenInazuma wrote:QUOTE (Inazuma @ Dec 10 2013, 12:09 AM) Perhaps we should do a bit of marketing to attract some new players. Has been done several times. Couldn't hurt to do more, but promoting the existing ones would be a heck of a lot easier.

Already exists - Mumble server: mumble.rtsquad.org port 64738
The advertising stuff you want needs leg work. There aren't many volunteers hanging around lately for it. It isn't nec. hard to do, just time consuming and generally low-to-moderate yield/very low retention.

Most games are 3v3, except on weekends which are hit or miss, but can get to the amazingly huge 10v10- however mostly are less than that.
I'm not sure what happened to Fridays, but they are horribly dead that last few times I was there.
