Man, theres some actors I wish would get killed in the series, mainly because I hate their acting style. I'm convinced its their acting style and not how they were written.

Saw it, pretty meh, I like A Song of Ice and Fire for the story, in Game of Thrones it is rushed, the overall story seems similar but there is so much missing when compared to the books that it just makes the acting seem all wooden.

All Game of Thrones is good for is tits and those are pretty easy to find on the internet, I doubt I will be watching any more of GoT.

I love ASOIAF for the characters, the story, and the setting. Although the books are just $#@!ing amazing, I disagree with Sharpy here. I find the series is also good fun. I like to cheer for the characters, even though I know what is going to happen.

Although there was no Arstan Whitebeard, I still think Ser Barristan Selmy was a badass last night.

Which ones? I'm not very fond of Daenerys myself, a chracter I love in the books. Stannis is horrible, but then he is pretty horrible in the books too (you just don't get a sense for wtf is going through his mind)

Both sansa and her handmaiden made me want someone to shove them off the pier where they stood. Just sayin.

Further proof of MW's diminished mental faculties.

Really, badass, he knocks a ball out a girls hand while holding a knife (clever thing to do) then stabs a bug, badass man!

Really? I think live action adaptations are great because they allow you a glimpse into someone else's interpretation of the source material, while also offering acting. Rather than just imagining how characters feel, you can see actual people expressing how they think the characters are feeling.

It's why I like the LotR films better than the books, and why I'm conflicted on whether I like the Harry Potter books more or less than the films.

Peter Dinklage is just great too.

I think with TV and film compared to books, you're trading story detail for a more dynamic and visual experience. Also I don't think the TV show is any less deep than the books, it's just less detailed. The themes and character motivations are still all there.
