I guess this is the right forum.
A few weeks back, I got really pissed at the complete mess the QC menu is and totally redid mine. I removed all the unused bs stuff, and organized the rest more logically. Mainly, I removed Yell and added 4 categories:
-Positive Exclamation
-Negative Exclamation
-Respond Yes
-Respond No
I also made sure Info and Tactical menus include only stuff requesting/providing information and useful in tactical situations respectively. Attack/Defend/Need is the usual stuff with tweaks (for example my Found enemy miner/constructor chats actually provide a target that can be accepted and are under the Attack menu)
So.. of course the shortcut keys are totally $#@!ed up so this is probably of no interest to any of you unless you are in the same boat as me and hate the default QC menu. I'm still getting used to it, and it's a pain, but it's worth it. I'm actually using stuff I've never bothered with before. I just wanted to throw it out there for a possible alternative newbie setup, because I think it's much more newbie friendly.
You can check it out by simply renaming your quickchat.mdl to something like quickchat.mdl.bak and dropping it into your artwork folder.
