it occurred to me the other day when some pilots i used to fly with (and now i tend to fly against) might think i have something against them but this isnt the case. this is how it works:

at the beginning you are newbie: i will make it my priority to fly with you. if you like to hit insert, i will take you under my wing, if you ask lots of questions (bonus!) i will spend extra time explaining and even demonstrating stuff while in a real game.

now you have the basic knowledge and are making a name for yourself: i may / may not fly with you. i have other new batches of newbies to escort through the learning process. if you would like to participate and help out, you are more than welcome to! if i see you using stuff we covered in training, i will compliment you, if you are doing things wrong, i will let you know (or COMPLAIN LOUDLY if it becomes a chronic symptom... like say probing your own sectors at start of game)

if you have survived this far, you have great determination and/or thick skin. but you have the skills to make people make note of your particular speciality (not just an avg player). whether it be a fearsome bomber pilot, nanner, htt pilot, dmer, prober, or miner killer/defender. here, i will most likely fly against you (be on the opposite team) to even the teams out. if you are a miner killer, i will try to thwart you, if you are a great miner d, i'll redouble my efforts to kill miners from under your protection. gloves are off at this point, all methods of warfare including psychological (taunting) will be employed :)

beyond this point, you will have graduated to the level where i will once again look to fly with you because it will be super fun to work as a team with someone who knows what they are doing, someone i can depend on, someone who can rightfully be called a vet. i may sometimes fly on opposite team for balancing purposes but more often than not, ill join you to terrorize the other team (esp if antistacking).

I don't think they covered proper taunting techniques in basic =/
How do you propose to remedy this problem?
