I'm not a big Apple fan, but this guy shaped and inspired some of the fields I find interesting.

It's a titanic loss for the technology world. He will be missed.

The Apple home computer changed the world more than than apples 'i' products.

QUOTE Even though Jobs earned only $1 a year as CEO of Apple,he held 5.426 million Apple shares, as well as 138 million shares in Disney (which he had received in exchange for Disney's acquisition of Pixar). Forbes estimated his net wealth at $8.3 billion in 2010, making him the 42nd wealthiest American
QUOTE After Bloomberg accidentally published Jobs' obituary in 2008, Arik Hesseldahl of BusinessWeek magazine noted that "Jobs isn't widely known for his association with philanthropic causes", compared to Bill Gates' efforts.[90] After resuming control of Apple in 1997, Jobs eliminated all corporate philanthropy programs
yep, he was ultimately pretty worthless in my opinion.

EDIT: Spidey got in first with my sentiments.

someone who doesn't give out freebies to others is a worthless human being? are you serious?
he created a bunch of products that lots of people obviously liked, that is far from worthless.
