From KernelMode forum.

This blackmail (same category as Gay Porn Blackmail) can cause a lot of problems if you (accidental) get infected, often after visiting some ("normal" Russian porn) sites.

It's a fake pedo porn window, nothing is shown, same family as FakePlashInstaller, FakeIEupdater, FakeOpera etc. Your pc is locked, they demand money to send via obscure payment schemes (usually to Russia / Ukraine).

You do not want to explain to your boss, wife, kids how you got this.

I wonder how the legal system would handle malware that downloads pedophile pornography.

When I was in High School, a number of kids sent around nude photos of themselves to each other. Some other kids decided to stockpile them all into a gallery, and it was released on the school network. The County Prosecutor got involved, and several of them were charged with production and distribution of child pornography, and took pleas down to misdemeanors.

Were your modeling fees enough to cover gas for your white windowless van?

The punishment for those people imho should be much higher than a "pay 500$ to Ukraine or we're gonna tell your wive about it."

I have little sympathy for the real pedo. Period. Justice can take care of them.

My concern is that when the Russian internet mafia notices that they can make insane amounts of money they will spread this malware to innocent users with e.g. corrupted web ads. It happened before with other kind of blackmail ware (like YouHaveIllegalSoftware, GayPorn, YouViolatedTheLaw etc).

Be cautious for this kind of blackmail.
