CC team, please have mercy!

My mounting frustration with what CC becomes has been brewing for quite a long time now. Probably since CC started introducing additional changes after it has done a sensible thing with SY tech path.

I can’t understand why do we keep playing this core at all... There is no longer any appreciable differences between factions, other then the ship/base models.

Let me articulate a few points:

1. It is impossible to balance any core in alleg, because the problem stems from the team size, not the way stats are set. Prime example would be SUP, the larger the team the more powerful it gets.

2. By removing cheese / special advantages from factions, we are removing the whole point of choosing a faction in a first place.

Isn’t it the whole point of having an unfair advantage is exploiting it to it’s fullest potential?

Things that i found to be most disturbing during some iterations of CC are:

Removal of hvy boost from adv figs.
- Really? Am I always supposed to catch up to adv fig in my hvy int, but not vice versa?
Increasing weakness of mini-ac.
- Rix hvy scouts are supposed to pwn! Deal with it! They’re expensive enough to get, they should be uber!
Sig increase for ints.
- Why should i eye incoming miner O int from so far away in my nan scout, that i can prox it twice or more times?

What was wrong with XRM hvy bbrs? It was always a very nice win button. And imho for a very good reason - You let the enemy live long enough to get them, it’s your own fault, deal with it!

If anything, the differences between factions should be increased and diversified to make it more enjoyable to play.

Nowadays i play only because of inertia associated with my alleg addiction, not because i enjoy flying CC.

There are some minor good things coming out from CC, namely the more sane tech paths, which tech belongs where etc... Those changes i actually appreciate. Pretty much everything else makes me want to rant and whine.

Can’t you understand that you’re taking away the joy of flying different factions?

If you want to have total balance during the game, then by all means, step up to comm both teams, choose the same faction and knock yourself out, why do you insist everybody else should suffer?

The funny thing is that i know i am not alone in my sentiments, if i were, i’d probably just stfu.

I think part of the problem is pretty much everyone on the CC team now is a nice person.

They all mean well, but you really need an @#$%@# like Shiz/Vir/Spidey/Xere to stop and say "Tough @#(!, everything shouldn't be easy or fair."

I find it slightly amusing that every CC change complained about by voobscout happened under previous ZLs/teams. Yet people somehow still use the thread to complain about the current team.

To me, factions mean different techs.... different strategies, and most importantly to me, different targets. If everything changes, and is the same, I will be sad, because there are plenty of games which share the "flight model" and such, but this one struck me, since it was pretty much community developed.

Maybe I mean nothing since I know nothing, but sometimes, things seem to change without any basis, and that irritates me

As for Voobscout's specific complaints I wasn't head at those times and can't really claim responsibility for the changes except to say that the removal of tech is sometimes necessary to achieve balance.

I do understand the sentiment that some people seem to share about balancing towards the middle instead of equally outwards. All I can say is that I consider most every idea suggested to me. If you think you have a good suggestion just post it here. You'll get feedback quickly I'm sure
