Would it be possible to add a link to this page:

http://www.freeallegiance.org/FAW/index.php/Boot

To the "You have been booted" screen, perhaps with a "For more information on booting, see this page (opens in a browser" ?

Or when the player clicks, instead of opening in a browser the information simply shows in a window in game?

Its useful especially for newbies/(5)s getting their first boot, who often get more frustrated than they should about it.

Even without a link, it could be enough to just put a condensed version of that page in the boot message itself. Not a wall of text, just, you know, "Commanders have the right to boot players at their discretion. You can still re-join the game -- simply create a new account with a different callsign and log back in. If you are a new player, with a rank of (4) or less, you have protection from boots, and you should not have been booted unless you were actively hurting your team. Contact enforcement and describe what happened."

This is a great idea:

QUOTE "Commanders have the right to boot players at their discretion. You can still re-join the game -- simply create a new account with a different callsign and log back in. If you are a new player, with a rank of (4) or less, you have protection from boots, and you should not have been booted unless you were actively hurting your team. Contact enforcement and describe what happened."[/quote]

Should put that in exact, though maybe with a URL to more comprehensive rules at the bottom.

You have been Booted because the commander was frustrated with the @#(!ty performance of the whole team and you decided to be in the wrong place at the wrong time ...... You have provided an outlet for the commanders rage and your sacrifice is noted.

Note that if you were booted for serious intentional game-disturbance continuing to do so after relogging may result in a perma-ban of your main-account.

As a newb I must say: Good statement ... newbs need to know they can relog or else they feel terrible.

Added ban-line even though I don't know if that really exists around here.
