Hey there, being the curious noob that I am and with all the playable factions out there it just begs the question, which faction is the worst or, which one do you think has the least number of advantages compared to others?

Can't they get Pattys though? I figured those would be useful for something, since they have all that money and everything. I read that thread that Spidey posted in the rant forum, I wasn't sure if the ideas in there were to be taken seriously, as some members assumed it was just trolling.

Statistically bios is the faction that loses the most, but that doesn't stop the genius' in cc from nerfing it more.

Is twelve games really enough to decide if a faction is the weakest or not though? Perhaps they just had very bad teams or it was late at night with very few players.

Edit: I'm not trying to dismiss your response, just wondering is all.

This is a very complex and contentious issue. Some factions are stronger on certain maps, or on certain settings, or in certain game sizes, or with a certain level of gameplay, or against certain other factions. Long protracted debates can and do erupt in CC about whether a faction "on balance" is too strong or too weak.

It doesn't help that the perception of balance matters as much as real imbalance. For example, Bios received a (IMO well-deserved) severe economy nerf a few months back. Now no one wants to fly it, except the newbs that don't know any better, and so they lose more often that not, perpetuating the impression that Bios is horrible. It's probably not as bad as people think, but how bad is it? No one can agree ...

Giga is an odd fish. It scales very poorly. In small games, it's not hard to spam cheap bases that are uneyed most of the time and build with minimal D -- and once built, they mostly stay built. Above about 15 people or so, Giga almost never has any outposts around the 25minute mark, because they're so easy to destroy -- all you need is a large enough swarm of ships with tier-II (not even tier-III) tech.

Probably the best way to look at it is to see what gets played in squad games. Assuming good play on both sides, what do people choose? Giga is never played in SGs. Ever. Bios is fairly unpopular but does come out every once in a while. OH is new and so it's sorta hard to tell where it falls. GT seems rather rare. Rix is played a bit more frequently, but the real bread and butter of squad games are IC, Dreg, TF, and Belters.

Question should be, "Which faction is the weakest at _____?"
Fill in blank with any tactic or strategy.

The simple existence of this thread demonstrates my agony towards the direction the CC has taken the game.

Because no one wants to play a weak faction?

They've been consistently at the bottom of the statistics for quite some time, the stats there are only from the previous month.

But yeah, cc team doesn't like balancing based on facts, rather idiot voob suggestions.
