Reposting some of these old hi-res assets. Link.

Not tested recently. Textures are phat ass BMPs because PNG+TXT used to give me trouble.

Stuff in the zip:

Hi poly/res asteroids and build spheres:

Higher res textures for some GT models and bases:

Shield effect (I think this was fx09bmp)

Hi res aleph and some modified static and TF ambient sounds.

I need to install those asteroids! Wow!

GT needs a general texture overhaul. One doesn't IMO have to stick that close to the original either. I'm not too impressed with the black dashed lines.

IMO the u-rock would look better without clouds ;)

I like the clouds, it gives it some "atmosphere"

Yeah, that's the issue I have with them, the tiny U-rocks in this game are far too small to support an atmosphere :P

Why not? Uranium is quite dense so even though it is a an asteroid it could still support an atmosphere unlike carbon and silicon which are much less dense, also uranium is denser then the core of the Earth so the gravitational pull it exerts for its small size would be enough to support an atmosphere.

Even if the rock was 100% Uranium, it would still only be about 4 times more dense than average Earth density.

Tech rocks in Alleg are what, 3-4km? So surface gravity would be something like 0.02 m/s^2.

Although I do like the steam idea.
