im kinda fed up with my current hosting provider cuz it's a pain in the ass to ask them to install this perl module or that... every time i write a script that requires a new one. if you have a server that has i can access through ssh, maybe you can help me out.

here's a list of of stuff that im looking for:

- good uptime... hopefully something hosted at a datacenter. otherwise i could just host it w/ my home connection too!
- a mysql database
- ability to set up cron jobs
- gotta have perl
- allow me to install more perl modules as needed (stuff like dbi, datetime, date::calc) probably gonna need root or some sort of root-like access

bah.. i know this is a tall order. maybe easiest if i just put everything in a vm and find someone to host my vm instead? or maybe i'll just host it myself w/ my crappy home connection... -.-

I'd think that you'd have to have near-dial-up speeds for a home connection before home-hosting becomes nonviable for most tasks. Sorry, but I can't offer anything myself. My commercial website (which is in a datacenter) is just a shared account, so I don't have some of the other things you're looking for. :(
