A workaround is replacing the 'i' with a %69:

However, it does not work for images.
For additional fun, attempt to edit this post once posted. The boards will complain about dynamic images and corrupt the post with backslashes.
Censor also affects, breaks URLs

You would have to replace the whole word to not be bypassing the censor, no?
