So a couple weeks ago I decided to dl alleg after quite a few years of absence. Back about 5 years or so ago I actually was the documentation lead. Then RL happened blah blah blah. Sorry! Anyway, after playing a few games I can no longer feign being a noob despite my sadly reset rank. People say things like "who is this noob that knows how to nan a bomb run" and so on.
Here are my impressions after being away for such a long time.
1. Stain_Rat does not appear to be active on this board anymore. THIS IS A NATIONAL OUTRAGE.
2. Hey somebody actually redid the website like we were planning. Also the wiki is much better now. GG YOU GET A MEDAL.
3. My rank seems to be different every time I log on. 5 one day, 2 the next, then 0, 3, 4, 1, 2, and so on. HURRAY MATH.
4. People will resign at even the slightest provocation. OMG THEY PROBED OUR HOME RESIGN.
5. I will always be meticulously scouting and probing every sector of the map, and when I reach the last one, #4 happens.
6. I will spot a bomber / con / htt about 3 or 4 sectors out, dutifully report it in chat, repeat the warning about 3 or 4 times, and watch in dismay as nobody notices. We lose a base or something and the comm goes ballistic on chat, while not noticing my reports.
7. Giga economy is whore. Seriously, plant another spec mine. You deserve it.
8. Comm calls for galvers, and then about 4 people go off and attack different targets, destroying none of them.
9. Launching 12 mustangs is an appropriate bomber defense.
10. A team with capital ships must launch at least six of them. No exceptions. Furthermore, no one is to nan a cap ship, instead you should just get another cap ship.
11. Attacks using the strategy in #10 still manage to fail somehow.
12. People choose Belters for some reason now.
THAT IS ALL.

You're not on sector chat channel are you?Magician wrote:QUOTE (Magician @ Jun 14 2010, 03:46 AM) 6. I do that a lot. Once I did it as commander, calling for D from a Con push.. After the base was destroyed I was about to rage at my team when I realised I had just been PMing the sector I wanted defended.
I noticed that too. Two teams are getting exp endgame( no, not 2nd tech... it is htt+sig GAs). Team A captures a random useless outpost. Team B resigns.Magician wrote:QUOTE (Magician @ Jun 14 2010, 04:46 AM) 4. People will resign at even the slightest provocation. OMG THEY PROBED OUR HOME RESIGN.
I have a johnson photo in my profile since 2010.
Never heard of this guy myself either.ImmortalZ wrote:QUOTE (ImmortalZ @ Jun 14 2010, 03:42 AM) Doc lead? Five years ago? There were no ZLs five years ago.
So unless you're one of the Academy folk, that is, TMC or Jell, I call BS on that.
Welcome back all the same
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.
