Well, this is the same issue with getting stuck in base models, but it was a carrier drone and this time I was flying IC.

There's a hole in the back of the IC carrier model. Fly directly between the tail lights straight in such that normally you would ram the back (not anywhere near the green door). You should pass in the model and back out without issues as long as you travel in a straight line. I have done this multiple times, and will fraps it tomorrow.

Instructions for duplication:
1. Get an IC carrier. Get it to stop somewhere.
2. Take a scout or interceptor, something with a small front profile
3. Orient yourself so that the green door topside is flat with the topside of your ship, and the thrust axis of the carrier aligns with the thrust axis of your ship.
4. Fly slowly forward, directly between the engine lights/exhaust such that the bottom of your ship skims the imaginary plane formed by the bottom of the carrier.
5. You'll see some graphics oddities as long as you are in first-person-view. I haven't tested other camera views yet.
6. Stop.
7. Fly directly backwards. Do not turn. Backthrust.
8. You should (if you were competent at directing your ship) have flown out the way you went in without colliding against the carrier.

Obviously this is a problem. However, it is not a problem which I can fix using my other project of making a CVH verifier. The collision box for the carrier is fine, it just doesn't line up with the graphics model.

Edit: I found this by accident while nanning a carrier earlier today. I was flying for the green door, mis-thrusted and hit the back. Except I didn't hit the back, it just looked like I was inside the ship.

Shh, stop giving away secrets.

If you fix this, it will only be another nerf to Exp.

Sure Camaro, I can see it now:

"GB defeats SYSx! LANS gets top kill count by hiding partially in a carrier model preventing enemy interceptors from aiming at him properly!"

Right.

Do you actually get stuck, or do you just bounce off a wall that's short distance inside the visible wall? Because loading the file in Milkshape shows that the MDL protrudes beyond the CVH there, but I wouldn't consider it high priority unless it's causing problems.

No, i didn't get stuck. I just bounced. And the only oddity was the graphics switching due to my camera being inside the ship. But there's really no issue, its an extremely minor problem.

I think you fail to grasp the larger implications of this. ;)
