What sort of code do you do? As I said in game last night - the Alleg. code is all pretty involved C++ stuff......infospy wrote:QUOTE (infospy @ Mar 17 2010, 09:56 AM) How can a Dev join this project?

Thanks, I'll take a good look at it.notjarvis wrote:QUOTE (notjarvis @ Mar 17 2010, 10:06 AM) What sort of code do you do? As I said in game last night - the Alleg. code is all pretty involved C++ stuff......
I'm not sure if there is a fixed process ATM. There's a rule you have to submit some code before being accepted I believe, but things are a bit confused atm.
Have you looked at the source code? Instructions on getting it and building it can be found here.
Other links of interest - the Alleg. Bug Tracker can be found here. I'd check out alleg. dev. IRCtoo (#Allegiance.dev).
You don't have to submit code per say, but you have to make some sort of contribution that helps out.notjarvis wrote:QUOTE (notjarvis @ Mar 17 2010, 05:06 AM) What sort of code do you do? As I said in game last night - the Alleg. code is all pretty involved C++ stuff......

Haha, Sharepoint. x'Dinfospy wrote:QUOTE (infospy @ Mar 17 2010, 09:34 AM) Like I've said, I'm mostly .Net code as my main area of business is SharePoint Server development.
Um... what? How can you be on the Dev Team and never commit code? I suppose an exception could be made for the guy that arranges beta testing...fuzzylunkin1 wrote:QUOTE (fuzzylunkin1 @ Mar 17 2010, 11:04 AM) You don't have to submit code per say, but you have to make some sort of contribution that helps out.
I suppose you could do useful things like produce art for a release which involves a UI change, or identify the problem in some of the functions and post what the solution is, and then let others actually produce the patch.TheBored wrote:QUOTE (TheBored @ Mar 19 2010, 07:32 PM) Um... what? I dunno, you might wanna get yourself some experience with real programming before you commit yourself to something like this.infospy wrote:QUOTE (infospy @ Mar 17 2010, 10:34 AM) Thanks, I'll take a good look at it.
Like I've said, I'm mostly .Net code as my main area of business is SharePoint Server development. But I've always managed to succeed in my endeavors so I think this one might be a successful one.
So I will take a good look at the code and bugtracker and I'll see if i can make anything good of it.
Best Regards.
There's more to developing software than programming, cockwad.TheBored wrote:QUOTE (TheBored @ Mar 19 2010, 02:32 PM) Um... what? How can you be on the Dev Team and never commit code? I suppose an exception could be made for the guy that arranges beta testing...
