The AFS command staff aren't showing in their squads too, quite odd to look at.
Just throwing it out there but I'm sure it is a known "feature"

Yup they are.
AFS command staff used a hider for their AFS nick, and there
main/another callsign for their squad.
Squad members who happen to manage/Mentor AFS appear to have an (M) next to their squadded nick......

Yeah I wondered why some of them had hider names and some had their actual names. Peenix was the one I noticed and thought PKs roster was a bit "light", then I started noticing most squads
Fair enough then... no way of getting them to appear in both squads?

Also what does (D) stand for after a nick...I saw two people a tleast with this?

Yeah
That means that the player is a member of the same squad twice with two callsigns linked under one account
