Cobalt is a bit borked. Your home is about 1.5 fuel loads from their home, which means that this map gets dominanted by IC (since IC lt ints > Dreg lt ints) as they "push" one sector next to your home, boost their ints in to kill your opening cons, and then build in the middle. It's like you did to copper what the dev team did to HiHigher, but you forgot to make the alephs in the middle low-sig and far-as-hell apart from each other.
Welcome to IC p1.

Yes, because I have never played as or against IC before

Then what is your point :P . You can always do that as IC in a bunch of maps which have a short way to his home. It's not 1.5 tanks, but still.

Can't make them far apart as they get overwritten, however they are both 0.4 standard sig. Could be that is getting overwritten too. I'll do some testing.

How does IO manage it then?

I thought that the aleph randomiser kept them 'roughly' the same distance from the centre?

IO achieves it by being a default map.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

Yes, you can space them further apart. At least, you can according to the AME documentation.

I wouldn't trust documentation.

From what I can tell IO sig is around 0.2, plus it has the extra 1-1.5k distance and increased randomness from the straightline through the centreiness. Might be a good idea to change it to say 0.15. Wouldn't need to change the AU just the server version.

Emailed off the updated map to the server admins. Also documentation is wrong.
