Ok I just got booted out of a game by whoever is the blue comm in the main game at this moment in time.
All that happened was that I failed to save a miner from being destroyed but I did take the guy out immediately afterward.
In my opinion this is a flagrant abuse of the comm spot as you shouldn't boot players without warning mind you just because they arrive a second to late.
Now I'm kinda a newb (Novice 5) but this just flat out pissed me off!
I wish I knew the comm's name.
Any thoughts and has this happened to you?

It's not against the rules, I'm afraid, as you are a 5. If you were a 4, it'd be against the rules. Doesn't necessarily make it right, of course, depending on the situation, but not much to be done about it.
However, you *can* get back into the game. Simply create a new ASGS account. You can have up to 3 by the rules, as long as you use them all on the same computer so they get "linked." You can just log in with the new account name -- this is called using a hider -- and you are then free to join the game again.
Just keep in mind you can't give away strategic information about the team you've been booted from to the other team afterwards, as this would be considered cheating.
Edit: Or, I could have just posted a link to the wiki I suppose.

You were booted because you were probably asked to d miners. Ragecomm decides he doesn't like your lack of nanlove and gives ye the boot.
This is not an abuse of teh boot but he might have not noticed you were new due to the EXTREME cases of (5)'s we're getting.
You will be booted for worse reasons than this, believe me. Just ignore it and try not to make a scene.

Here is l1ngus' small guide for being booted:
1. Make sure you notice the reason for your boot. In your case it sounds like you played the wanna-be whore and failed instead of just nanning the miner. If you don't understand, why you got booted, don't hesitate to ask the commander.
2. Get your hider and rejoin.
3. Don't make the same mistake again. Improve your skills and lower the level of frustration your commander has to suffer.
Always remember: The boot is not to bring you down personally.

Sometimes a person is booted at random to make an example, but most of the time the comm has a reason to be pissed off at the person he booted. In your case it sounds like they had a good reason too, losing miners rarely makes the comm happy. If you're on miner D and you can't aim (and there are too many people playing this game who think they can) then you should have a nan instead of an int or fig. I know I've asked comms to boot wannabe whores for losing miners in the past, let alone them doing the booting themselves. Whether you were on miner D or just nearby I don't know, but this is still a good lesson to learn. It will save you more boots in the future.
And what lingus said. Also,
4. Don't whine about getting booted on the forums. Firstly because its not going to help you any, and secondly because it puts your name into some commanders' minds. And now that they know you've been booted for screwing up they're going to be watching. And yes, willing to boot you to see if you whine on the boards again.
We now return to your regularly scheduled carebear responses.

You could also join the other team, if allowed, and play against your ex-commander. You are just not allowed to reveal any information about the team you got booted from.
