Once upon a time I read a post that suggested it might be cool if a captured techbase allowed the victors the ability to launch ships unique to the faction that built the base. I thought so too, so I made it happen.
Presenting: Delta Centauri core, version 0.1.
I'm going to have to steer clear of those neat little changelogs that apoch and co. produce, because I messed with so many things I don't remember them all. Basically it's MS 1.25 ships and tech tree, but I changed a lot of the stats to match up with CC so I'd know what I'm working with.
Summary:
-Faction perks are tied to ships and equipment, not applied generally to all of one team. This means if you mount rixian guns as bios, you get the full 1.15 damage and 1.2 range perks.
-Capturing an opponent's outpost, tele or ref confers no advantage other than owning an extra base.
-Capturing an opponent's tech base allows access to the ships researched at that base, tech researched at that base, and allows construction of outposts, refineries, teleports and Garrison belonging to the opponent's faction.
-Capturing an opponent's garrison allows access to ships and tech researched at the garrison, and allows construction of all of the opponent's faction bases.
-Most research perks and quirks are still faction dependent.
-Miners and carriers cannot be captured or built by a conquering faction.
Main Differences from CC 03:
-No hvy scouts.
-TT moved to garrison.
-NG missiles moved to garrison. Prerequisites: Hvy bbr, TT.
-NG missiles can be mounted on hvy bbrs and sbs. Arming time 18 seconds, range from stationary: 132m, from 75 m/s: 1032 m.
-Rixian Unity cannot get NG missiles. Instead they can research Lt Troop Transport, a small TT with lt booster.
-Only 1 level of aleph res.
-If a garrison is lost, the team loses access to any tech that was researched there. They also lose their starting figs (if applicable).
-Belters ability to keep enh level tech is tied to their garrison. If they lose it they lose the ability. Similarly if Belters Garrison is captured, the victor can access belters enh tech.
-No figbees or XRM.
-Galvs affect major base sheilds, but aren't very effective. Still cannot damage hull.
-EW Disruptor and LRM killer can damage minor base sheilds, but aren't very effective. Still cannot damage hull.
-SRM EMP added to the prerequisites for HTT.
-PW EMP cannon damage modifier vs minor base shield perked to 0.8 (0.5) and vs major base shield perked to 0.7 (0.0).
-Shipyard still has the 1.25 style tech tree with one base upgrade, and ship tech developments. But who uses SY anyway?
-Major base hitpoints are distributed 2/3 in the shields and 1/3 in the hull, instead of the other way around.
-SRM EMP damage modifier vs major base shields doubled.
-EW Stinger damage modifier vs major base shields doubled; vs major base hull halved. TTK for techbases is the same as CC for all AB weaponry, but stinger versus IC hvy stations take ~50% longer to kill.
-Only 5 factions: Belters, Bios, Gigacorp, IC, rix.
I think that more-or-less covers progress to date. Whaddya think?

One and a half months of nose picking and thumb twiddling later, I've stumbled into an alpha version that's slightly less bug-ridden than version 0.1. So with no further ado, allow me to introduce Delta Centauri, version 0.2.
