Why should Base Campers / Proxers have the advantage of actually beeing able to ->SEE<-- what's happening while a pilot who is launching cannot?
Also, most ship functions ( targeting etc. ) seem not work while launching.
It's an unfair advantage and annoying as hell.
I'd like to see it removed, it doesn't make sense to me.
I took the cadet course, and all i got was this lousy bitmap.
There have been many threads about this. I argued your point - but there were those in the community that actually tried to argue that this was an intended feature of the game. Of course I KNOW this is BS, but I was arguing against established and respected members of the community...so I lost.
Good luck.

Well, IMHO it was just intended as "eye candy", but i think its just tiresome and stupid.
What possible explanation could there be for not beeing able to see for 5 seconds? Did i just notice i have put on my helmet backwards? Did the Cockpit fog up because space is really really cold? Am i still drunk because spritzers and cololers where half price?
I agree it is just BS.

The easier solution is for you to stop launching from camped bases.
Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.
I do seem to remember that the time that the launch animation was keyed to also was used for when a pod was killed. (Yes, it makes no sense. Welcome to the wonderful world of Allegiance code)
Your ship is launched by steam catapult, as on an aircraft carrier, and as a result for the first few seconds of flight your control is limited. You can't see what's ahead because you're too busy being squished into your pilot's chair by the sudden acceleration, and the sensors need a second to calibrate after launch.

Also it looks cool!
The nice part about being a pessimist is that you are constantly being either proven right or pleasantly surprised.
stop whinning about something you dont understand #1. #2 stop launching alone into a camped base. #3 learn TEAMWORK and DEFEAT the campers>>. Its part of the game. There is a reason for it. We dont need to change the heart of the game to stop you from being an idoit
oh and i forgot your ship isnt uncontrolable for that time. you can turn and boost.learn the game noob
