Okay then im guessing it's probably your router or Allegiance being blocked by the firewall, make sure it isn't blocked by the firewall and on the router make sure ports 2300-2400 (the MS Gaming Ports) are unblocked.

I'm unfamiliar with Avira (folks find it fine with Alleg according to the posts I've read). It still sounds like something is blocking your access to our servers. That's normally a firewall issue, but according to their site, the Personal version doesn't have a firewall. (Their other products do, however.) I would suggest that you uninstall Avira and reboot. See if you can connect. (You can re-install later once we've tracked down the issue.)

We need to know if you're using a router and a modem to access the internet or just a modem.

Please list the make and model of the router (if exists) and modem.

er.. just a modem i believe. its Cable with Virgin. its a Virigin box that they supplied. with no other names on the damn thing.
