I just finished downloading Asgs 2.2 from the main page, go onto the online play menu, and it begins updating. After that, I get this little message from AVG
I tell it to move to the virus vault, and then Asgs has a failure and shuts down.
Is this just AVG going faulty or did a virus get snuck into allegiance?

Advice, don't use AVG use something like NOD32. But I'm guessing it's a false alarm.

AVG's going faulty. Both in the fact that alleg doesn't have a virus and in the fact that alleg and avg are no longer compatible.

They are dropping support for AVG 7.5
It was so good, all the ones after it suck.

False positive.
Obvious from the name.

Avast anti virus is free for home users. Download, install and register and they email you 1 years subs free. When it runs out just re-register the home edition (they always try and sell you the pro version) and its free for another 12 months. I've used Avast for years now and never get false positives like in your post.
I've never really liked AVG. 7.5 wasn't bad but 8 has cause so many problems I've been telling people not to bother with it.

Misinformation. I run the latest version of AVG and Alleg is just fine.
