Hi I've just started making a big update for the game it includes

1.I will try and make the graphics a bit better for those who have the high res update
2.If any one does not have the high res update I will add a option in the installer to add the update
3.5 new factions will be added ( If anyone has idea for new factions please mail me at jsn_ayre@yahoo.co.uk or pm me 4.here).
5.In the installer you will be given a choice to pick what you want installed such a high res update.
6.New in game sounds and music.
7.Better Voice activation ( only for those with the voice activation pack ).

What i will be using to make the update.
I am at the min looking around for the best programing software and graphical software for the faction ships, stations, probes and you get the idea.
Ive only started doing the simple things of this update such as
Find the right installer.
Design the ships by hand and 1 of the factions using ICE in the download page.
Ive also started to create music and sounds file using Audacity and sony audio studio.

Also going back to the high res update what i mean is i will strip it down and see what could be improved if i cant really see anything the i will just go and include the high res update in the installer.

That will be it for MY FIRST COMMUNITY UPDATE. ( The size of the update will be about 500mb - 800mb for some people most of that update will not be needed.
Also don't complain about the size of the file just delete after you install what you want from it (SO SIMPLE).
If there's that much complaining i will zip the folder and make a second update that does not include half the stuff i want it too.

(I WILL FINISH THE UPDATE AROUND JUNE - JULY 2010 IF I GET THE HELP I NEED FROM THE GOOD MEMBERS OF ALLEGIANCE)

Im also going to add an option to install the stable update for allegiance beta.

ALSO I HAVE BEEN ON THE GAME LONG ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND IT SO DON'T BE AN IDIOT.

ALSO IF THE CORE FILES ARE NOT ADDED TO THE SERVERS THEN I WILL START UP MY OLD SERVER UP FROM MY HOME EVERY SO OFTEN FOR PEOPLE TO PLAY WITH THEM ( THIS WILL ONLY BE IF PEOPLE LIKE THE CORES ).
ALSO YOU WILL NEED SOVROUTE FOR THE GAME PLAY IF THE CORE FILES ARE NOT PUT ON THE SERVERS.

Define "better".So, what? Everyone has to download the high-res files (500-800 Mb) as part of the update "just in case" they don't have it and want it.15 new factions? Do you have any idea how cores work?No commentNo commentNo comment

You've just joined. Wait until you've been here a few years before attempting to do anything like this. You'll see it's a futile attempt at achieving the impossible.

And 'First community made update' - Uhh..... You are completely wrong. Every single core on the core list was made by someone from the community. The Devs have made not one, not two, not even three but FOUR massive updates to the code and are working on their fifth. There is a 'Community Core' that has input from the community. 'Standard' allegiance also has had several additional factions: Phoenix (Although this is no longer on the Community Core), Effix (Again, not on the community core), Dregh'Klar Empire, Ga'Tarran Federation, and Technoflux. It also has two more WIP factions on the way: Omicron Hive and Faction X.

Get your informationr ight before you spout some BS that no one is going to listen to.

So what programming languages do you know?
Java? Python? Cappa? C#?

Learn to read also faction X isn't going to be in community core afaik just raptor core, looks interesting though.

However ayre you don't seem to know what your dealing with yet, have you had any experience in any of the fields you've put in? And you have chosen to do quite a lot, music n sound, models, textures, ice modding and general programming for an installer, most of that stuff individually is done by teams of people then a single person, especially as you want to add 15 factions, infact the 15 factions means your going to have to reprogram Allegiance itself to handle that so you need additional skills of deciphering code and advanced programming skills.

If you have any competencies in any of the fields mentioned then im sure you could help other teams of people with thier projects rather then try and start a massive project solo which is more likely to take you years then months, doing 1 faction is a lot for a few people as im sure Andon will tell you. However whether you take my advice or not good luck.

Also, since I'm doing Faction X ( ) I know that it's only in Raptor (Which I have other plans for a 'real' core with that name) until it is balanced enough to be put into CC - As it stands, Raptor is a clone of CC_03 with X added in

Are you listening dude?
1) How is it yours if its community made? Contradiction?
2) 15 Factions is impossible with the current Alleg code - substantial rewrites would be required.
3) As s pointed out THIS IS A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF WORK you are claiming to do in 6 mths.
