Hi,
I can't get Allegiance to adhere to my normal mouse sensitivity when I maximize the screen, and I can't play windowed so it's a bit of a problem. First of all I have a Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing drivers to no avail. Basically, I can set my mouse sensitivity to its highest setting or lowest setting in Windows but once I maximize Allegiance the sensitivity increases to a point where it is very difficult to play. Let me make this clear - No matter what sensitivity I set my mouse to, Allegiance always sets it to ONE setting, which is too high to play on.
Turreting is almost impossible as those turrets rotate so fast.
I have Windows xp SP 3
Windows Version (and Service Packs): XP 32bit SP 3
Processor Speed: Intel Core 2 2ghz
RAM: 2gig
Video Card (Make and Model#):ATI Mobility Radeon X1400
Sound Card (Make and Model#): Onboard
The rest of the information is useless as I'm sure it doesn't relate. Is there any way to force an adjustment to mouse sensitivity?
Thanks for all your help in advance.

How do you set the sensitivity in Windows? Is it a separate app or is it part of control panel?

Plug another wired mouse into that machine and see if the problem still exists. This will eliminate the mouse/driver issue.
I notice that the zoom and screen size tends to alter the mouse sensitivity in some cases. Change the resolution of your screen and see if anything changes.
Also make sure nothing is blocking the mouse 'line of sight' to its receiver. I notice my mouse does the same thing when the keyboard gets between the mouse and the receiver. Move the mouse and receiver away from any electronic devices to rule out any interference.
My mouse receiver has a button on the top that when pressed resets it. I never noticed that button because it looks like part of the receivers shell. Press the top of your receiver and see if it depresses like a button would.
Keep us posted, I'm certain this can be fixed. Don't give up.

If I adjust my mouse sensitivity with the mouse software or control panel it doesn't matter. It's the same thing with intellipoint. I have actually increased my game's resolution to 1440x990 (my screen's maximum) and that has helped A LITTLE. But not enuff. AGH I WANNA TURRET!
I'd appreciate any more ideas u guys have. Wasp I tried everything u mentioned. No avail.

Hmm.
I believe whatever routines Alleg uses to communicate with the mouse bypasses software sensitivity controls. My Razer mouse has a sensitivity adjust on the mouse itself that requires no installed control software to work. Hell, once you've configured it with your macros and such, there is no software required even if you take it to another computer.
Try updating the Intellipoint software and drivers (if any) for your mouse.

John, please post what type of monitor you have and what its native resolution is, I've got an idea that might reveal/solve the problem.
ImmZ, do you know if Alleg sets a mouse sensitivity level during installation?....ie...does it "capture" the mouse sensitivity level for a particular machine during installation and then alter that sensitivity level for each resolution change within the game? If this is so, I think we can 'trick' alleg with a reinstall at a very low resolution then up the resolution after install.
I'm grasping at staws here folks, I use a joystick and I don't see how any of you can use a mouse in the first place /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Hi guys, thanks for continuing to try to help me. I have changed/updated my drivers. I'm going to try to uninstall these drivers and find an older version of intellipoint to see if that works too. In any case I don't have a monitor really seeing as how I'm on a laptop. My laptop is a Dell Inspiron E1705
Display
* Display Type 17 in TFT active matrix
* Max Resolution 1440 x 900
My video card is a ATI Mobility X1400. If rolling back my drivers doesnt work maybe I'll try to reinstall Allegiance. How do I save my settings? (key bindings, etc.)

save a copy of "inputmap1.mdl" somewhere. Then after you re-install, copy that back over the one the installer will supply. it's found in your /artwork directory.

No it doesn't. Alleg doesn't have a setting for mouse sensitivity at all, other than the Linear/Quadratic Control response thing. It appears to use whatever setting the mouse has. In this case, it appears to even bypass the driver.

Is the problem only when you are turreting? Are you sure you're not zoomed in?
