I don't think the combat in Allegiance resembles Trek combat

HOWEVER

I would like to see a nice "beam" weapon - especially on cap ships (the nix lasers are el lame-o)....freespace had a nice combination of weapon types with the large beam weapons on cap ships that would put the hurt on figs.

Also, a slow energy torpedo like a photon torpedo would be cool.

TB- get to work!!! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

theres a fairly good beam weapon on EoR i believe (Rix Bomber) and I would think if you made a glowy ball for the model of a missile that could make a photon torpedo.

I could always be mistaken though /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

The Rix stinger on EoR uses very very many particles to simulate a beam. It looks rubbish if it turns too fast though as the beam becomes a stream (like a hosepipe).

A while back I played Demo on my 360 of a Star Trek game that had almost the same gameplay as Allegiance. It was horrible. It had almost exactly the same characteristics as Allegiance but it just didn't work right. To make a good Star Trek core you would have to change the way the game is played altogether and I'm sure it would take a very long time to get it right.
