There is a thread that discusses choppy or slow fps with NVIDIA 8800 series cards. I was wondering if anyone is playing with a high-end ATI (HD 4850 or HD 4870) and what your experience is with those. Also if you are using the Nvidia GTX 260 or 280 and care to share how Alleg is working, that would be appreciated.

You won't have problems with any ATI card in the market at the moment.

Sweet. I might get a second 4850. That should be plenty for me. One 4850 probably is enough though. I mostly only play games from well over 5 years ago anyway lol. I'd rather play on PC but hardly any games coming out for PC anymore compared to consoles (except MMO/RTS).

It isnt coming out for at least a year but Diablo 3 is more than enough of a reason for me to get 2 of these. Plenty of other games I'll be trying out as well /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I saw the gameplay video for the game and I was bored after two minutes.

Geez, you'd think you were still a senator to afford two 4870s. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

What kind of fps does the 4850 give you on Allegiance (I'm guessing is should be plenty...and I know if fps> refresh rate yadda yadda). The 4850 is the card i'm not rich like TB and can't afford two 4870s

Why would you get graphics cards now for Diablo? You know it's not going to be out for a minimum of two years.
