I finally find something that doesn't shoot back so I killed it, turned out it was a pod, sorry, I don't shoot life pods or parachutes, to me that's just wrong, so if the guy in the pod reads this I'm sorry I shot you. Now I know what they are.

Heh, @#(! happens /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />.
I'm sure they were glad to get home faster (or they were pissed 'cause they lost their kb).

All newbs shoot pods. Just don't do it again. Unless it's me, then please shoot down my pod and give me the free ride back to base /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Commanders don't like people shooting pods because it gives them a free ride back to base, instead of them having the five-minute-max trip back to base taking away a person from their team for that amount of time. It's like a respawning period, but you killing them makes them respawn faster, you know? So don't kill pods, unless they have a KB (kill bonus, the number at the bottom of your screen next to their ship image) over 28.

Since it was my pod...
First your forgiven /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />
Next we ALL have done it when we were new for the very reason you said above.
Being a zero is hard since you literally have a gignormous target on your back for all the "whores" who want to pump up there kill bonus (kb) + the damn game is hard to follow + the damn chat is wheezing by + the red stuff appearing asks me to hit insert + what is going on + someone is shooting me + zomg Im a pod + AGAIN! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
BTW killing pods is GOOD when:
a) The opponent has a kill bonus ( kb the number that appears when you target your opponent ) higher then I say 21 others will say different numbers
b) They are able to "eye" ( cause it to be seen by there buddy opponents ) your team's bomber, constructor, heavy troop transport, etc
c) They are your in game buddy and you want to be nice to them.... yes yes Allegiance = it is nice to kill your friends. ( Trust me anyone with a clue will PM you a thank you for killing thier pod )
Do the following:
1) Do all the training mission at least twice
2) Be able to kill several of the enemy in the final training mission before proceeding
3) Read the academy
4) Sign up for Cadet I ( PM BlackViper )
5) Have patience and give the game until you finish Cadet I
If you do that we'll give you a life long addiction and a group of no life internet friends.... now isnt that attractive

Don't kill pods based on kb.
Kill them depending on (b and c) and whether it is more beneficial to your team for them to be in a pod, or flying around.* And since it will be a long time before you are an accurate judge of this, don't kill pods.
If it is a good time to kill a pod, then someone who knows will kill it.
* For example, I'll leave a 30 that has to float home 3 sectors, but I'll pk a 10 that is 500m from being picked up.

Someone had to say something.
Some things are just . . . Random.

QUOTE (Newbie Brain)Hey! There's a lifepod! And it belongs to the enemy! Ha... I know what to do. We are all supposed to shoot down the enemies, no matter what ship they are in, so...
*BANG*[/quote]
Basically, in most games, we are taught the fact that all enemies must be destroyed (Such as in Shoot'em ups).
