I want to force certain drones to launch from a specific base. Alas, giving them a local tag for that base seems to do nothing. Does it not work for drones? If so why do miners have a local tag set?

well, if the drone docks in the base, it can't just die if the base doesn't have it's local.

and they launch from where everything else launches from - you couldn't build them if something they needed was only def'd by a local.

but locals do work for getting player ships and tech. (it's how i made some things in the capcore tidier by making it so you could only load them at sy)

Yes there is, i did it on Warpcore X1.2 With the techoflux unimatrix.

What you need to do is give the base a unique local value, and then give the ship the same local value under its Pre.

That will sort that problem for you.
