I dont know about most of you but it took me a few minutes to figure out what the heck to do. /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
The pages seem cluttered with tons of stuff.
Whoa.
The first page. It just kinda throws stuff at you.
I saw a Docter Who thing on the bottom and thought "wth?!" /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
Im not ranting just thought it would be easier for newbs if it was simplified.
And not throwing everything at you at once.

New player opinions! Love it!
Be careful though...
Posting personal opinions about game changes and forum changes here will send the more obsessed players into riots. They'll do anything from start rants about you to post not so constructive criticisms about you in the topics you've started or posted in.
A few tips when playing Allegiance. Don't take the game seriously. Don't play for more than two hours a day. If you start using words that might cause other players to feel bad about themselves, stop playing, or take a very long break and read alot of books on self conduct in un-real environments.
Remember these quotes, even though hardly anybody here abides by them at all:
Act like an adult.
Even if you aren't one. This is a mature community based around a game. G-A-M-E - it's not a lifestyle, it's not your fan club, it's not your escape from reality where you're the playground bully. Being good at a video game doesn't mean anything except that you have too much time on your hands and can't find a productive way to spend it.
Be Civil.
Everyone wants to play, nobody wants to be hassled. When in doubt, see the rule above.
Everyone gets to play.
You don't get to decide who gets to play and who doesn't. I don't care if they have a !@#$&% (-3) tag, let them play... so long as they follow the rules.
Don't be stupid.
When you're doing something you know you shouldn't do, you're being stupid. I don't care if you're trying to make a point, push a political agenda, or just like annoying other people. Don't do that. When in doubt, see the above rules.
There you have it. If you follow these four simple rules you won't violate the official RoC and everyone will be happy. If you don't follow these simple rules, then you don't get to play.
Oh, don't brag about accomplishments in-game. You make yourself sound like an idiot. Accomplishments in games don't get brag rights.
Hmm... what else... Oh. Don't join the team with a higher rank. It's reffered to as stacking here. and uh... if commanders or players start yelling at you exit out of the application immediatly and don't come back until the next day. Don't let commanders or players think they can push you around.

Sakuda, if your aim was to prove Meliza correct, `ro Objective Complete! /glare.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":glare:" border="0" alt="glare.gif" />
Also: new players are supposed to join the higher ranked team, so that they can see how the game's supposed to be played.</ot>

Sakuda put his foot in his mouth with amazing agility there /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

<bp|> Maybe when I grow up I can be a troll like PsycH

Dear Meliza (or any new player) please disregard this whole paragraph as it's utter nonsense.Sakuda wrote:QUOTE (Sakuda @ May 14 2008, 03:48 PM) Hmm... what else... Oh. Sakuda, you are still a new player /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
Also, I am amazed at how people still unequivocally associate team HELO differences with having the stack.
And if a commander boots you, log back in with another nickname. (You are allowed three). Logging out and not coming back would do the exact opposite of what Sakuda said.
Also, you should probably let commanders push you around a bit. To mutilate a quote here, think of Alleg as an RTS. And now imagine if you were playing the RTS and your units weren't going where you told them to, and just moved around of their own accord, pretty frustrating huh, so you can imagine that commanding can get pretty stressful when a player doesn't listen.
So make it easier on the commander and the rest of your team, and follow orders. (It might seem frustrating, but until you join Cadet or begin to know the ropes around here, it's best to watch and learn). And never be afraid to ask questions.

There used to be a big button a whiles back i heard, where it would say something like "Getting Started" or "New Player Info" right on the top of the page which linked to all sorts of materials. The current one is hidden among the other stuff among the main page now, but it's there =)Meliza wrote:QUOTE (Meliza @ May 14 2008, 08:32 AM) I dont know about most of you but it took me a few minutes to figure out what the heck to do. /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
