With all of the crap that goes on around here it is sometimes necessary to point out a shining moment.

Late last night game. One commander claims to be a returning vet, medium command. Other commander makes sure to verify with the "vet" he is capable of commanding and launches game. 10 minutes in it is very apparent that the "returning vet" has no clue and has made very basic mistakes. (Teams were equal by the way)

Rhow@XT (the other commander) propose a draw and gets it passed to bail out the team with the newb commander. Class act. Nicely done.

'Tip of the BV hat to your team and you Rhow.

Indeed, and we were able to move on and get to the next game which was more evenly matched in terms of commanders and teams. Nicely done.

Well if Rhow noticed that he's comm(0), that means the mistakes were too obvious to handle and he was soon to be mutinied upon by the vets on his team. Rhow nicely anticipated that to get an even challenge - without the team and a good com being crippled by lousy opening. I think i wasn't there to see it, but i'll second BV on that - nice move.

Pffft. Rhow only drew because he was going to lose, he is an even newbier commander.

In hindsight, we should have just stomped him.

The newb spent the rest of the evening trash-talking and spamming 'Make Me Commander!' He thought the draw was because of his number, not because he spent his opening money buying medium shields, quickfires, and probably a home op.

I gave him a second chance. I gave command to him (vs a drunk Voobtube) and he spent the entire game ignoring the advice of me and Sheff, as we tried our best to get a working economy. Please, don't anyone give him a 3rd chance.

A nice twist was the first game vs Rhow he sent the opening op centre on IO, cause our garr was <2k from the aleph and 'needed protecting'. In the second game he built his exp directly in front of and <1.5k from an unsecured sector - which was a choke point on the map btw - and decided not to secure it.

Chester something

He yelled at me and told me to stfu ( the wounds have healed ) and that he was better then me ( could be true since even TheSerb can pod me )...

All because I explained to him that a two comming on the main server is going to get a curb stomping, and why most wont fly for him, and how your wasting about 30 peeps time getting dry humped to reinvent the wheel about this whole ugly mess. * sigh *

He did take the lose well after the game, so Ill give him some credit for knowing he was beaten like a drum. Long way to go to be a comm again for him, and hopefully he learned his lesson.... ah yeah

BTW Rhow it WAS a class move on your part no matter what and I wish Id have thought of it.
