I've never understood why the 3 Giga Spec mines have different "features" (different shield strength, sig multiplier, income, etc). But specifically, what's the reason for the higher income of the Si Spec Mines? Do silicon asteroids appear less frequently than Ur or Ca?

And if they do, why?

All Tech Rocks are generated randomly, the only factor being what tech is available in the settings (I think).

I think the game-devs put the different attributes for different spec mines for flavour.

Si rocks are worth more because Giga Tac is cheese, or was with ms lxy sf.

I always thought the reasoning was based on the research one could make on those rocks with a tech base.

Tac - affects econ (kill enemy miners)
exp - carries sig ga's
sup - ship hull is one of the prime ga's.

except its the U mines which have double shields,
and c mines with low sig

exp -> station hull and shield GAs -> tougher bases -> tougher spec mine

C mine got low sig as that was all that was left?

the low sig is pretty useless though. once a team knows where the tech rock is, it is just a matter of flying over to where it was.

Dose a low sig on a base really do anything? Bases are easy enough to find and once you do, you can see them forever.

tps can be difficult to find, and/or are not found when you try to push a con into the same sector...

If I'm not mistaken the Si spec mine costs more as well. (?)

Therefore it would be logical for it to have a higher income.
