i think we could do with a technical guide to using ICE in the wiki

probably incorporating bits of

http://www.freeallegiance.org/forums/index...showtopic=23300

and bits of the ICE TechTree.txt

along with tables of flag numbers and a description (a list that is common to each core, and maybe lists specific to each core.)

examples are at the bottom of http://share.edge-of-reality.de/temp/webin...ideChapter2.txt

and one i'm working on as i make the capcore
(note this is based on DN 4.60, so these numbers may not apply to other cores, though some do)
CODEnumber description
6 YS on/off game setting
12 has a SY
134 lrg shield 2 research
138 defined to upgrade sy to DD
170 hvy counter 2
171 hvy counter 3
175 not giga
190 has a drydock
204 lrg shield 3 research
222 has a adv techbase
223 has a techbase or adv techbase
247 capship can launch from here (local) / is a capship
256 has a pali
356 not TF

idea is two fold, first part explains about how cores work, what pres, defs are, second is a resource so you can look up what a certain pre-def actually means

as sometimes a long line of
Pre = 1 10 149 151 157 174 188 ...
can be a little daunting, and looking up say 175

175 defined by:
Faction: Belters (101)
Faction: Bios (35)
Faction: Dreghklar (1)
Faction: Ga'Taraan (3)
Faction: Iron Coalition (25)
Faction: Phoenix (4)
Faction: Rixian (201)
Faction: Technoflux (2)

175 pre-required in:
Devel: Enh Carrier Drone (223)

doesn't immediately tell you that 175 means "this faction is not giga" / "must not be giga"

this is the link to the article that was created by hawkwood.

Im currently writing one, which is a bit easier to understand. I will have it done in about a week. It will be on the Wiki.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.
