Can this effect be assigned in the same way as the nav lights on a ship?

Im just wondering what this effect is, if its a hard-coded thing that has a default position on only miner class ships, or if it can be placed on models.

Basicly, would it be possible to use it as a special effect?

no.

Just like the build sphere and rip particles, its all hard coded.
