Yeah.. the game launches, but you're failing to connect. You'll be able to see it in the lobby when that happens. Sometimes degragging your hard drive helps in these circumstances... when you first join a game, Alleg loads a lot of data into memory. A fragmented hard drive (and low memory, but you don't have that problem, I would think) takes a long time to load it all in. The game times out in the meantime.

That happens once in a while to me too, but not often. Usually just a matter of waiting a minute (or a few) and trying again. When I see it happening it's usually when my cable connection is acting up with lost packets. (stupid damn cable company/employees... every damn time we go through the same equipment checks at their insistance, but it's always their equipment that's at fault.)

Normally I would agree, but this continues to happen all day, and has for the last 2, so I'm assuming something else is the cause here.

Edit: Is the ATL.DLL important?

Okay, It's been a while and I've tried a few (ok, a lot) more times and it's definitely not working. Would switching to .net 2.0 help, cause i still have 1.1. also, when i reinstall, i note an error message saying ATL.dll is not available for writing? anyway im assuming that that file is missing. Any help here is appreciated, i really wanna play again /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

You don't need .NET 2.0. Don't install it untill the new ASGS is out (TwoWeeks™). The .dll problem rings a bell, but I'm to wasted to try and recall what it was... I'll get back on it tomorrow.

sounds like ATL.dll is in read only mode. Find the file. right click on it. choos properties. and uncheck "read only" on it. make sure your admin first.

nah, ATL.dll is not read only.. The exact error message for it is "Error opening file for writing : ATL.dll - abort - retry - ignore etc... so.. i dunno whats going on becuase its still in the folder, and its not read-only
