Attempting to use sidethrust= 0 means alleg will act crazy in game when you attempt to sidethrust. Everything disappears, it's like you are stuck in the 5fps twilight zone.

I had been trying 0.01 a few days ago, whenever you turn your axis, and it doesn't matter what axis, you will deaccelerate a buttload, much more than is normal, but then once you are going straight with the momentum thingmajig everything normalizes again.

SO in effect, changing ship sidethrust abilities also reduces your ship's ability to turn and retain some amount of speed. You could be going 200 mps and do a 5 degree turn to the right and you will be down to 100mps in no time at all. However. If you push down the forward thrust button while you turn, then you retain your speed much better. If you don't, you will quickly reach say 20mps and stay there until you have stopped trying to change vectors..

It would seem sidethrust abilities will be enabled for starwhores core. I really wanted to change the way you fight. But making the sidetrhust ~ 0 means you either

A) always hold down the forward thrust button all the time
B) you die because you didn't do A)

what about a compromise of maybe 20-30% ?
