The BSG core autoupdate changed sounddef.mdl, reverting it to the regular plus the BSG core sounds. This means that nearly any chatpacks will be broken. There are two ways of fixing this:

One: Re-download the chatpack and put these groups in the sounddef.mdl file where indicated:

Code: Select all

//BSG sounds

ColonialStarbaseInternalSound  = GainSound(SFXGain,
                                PairedSound(
                                    PitchSound(0.5, LoopingSound(ImportWave("shipint"))),
                                    GainSound(-7, IntermittentSound(10, false, RandomSound([
                                        (ImportWave("colonialambient_10"), 1),
                                        (ImportWave("colonialambient_2"), 1),
                                        (ImportWave("colonialambient_3"), 1),
                                        (ImportWave("colonialambient_4"), 1),
                                        (ImportWave("colonialambient_5"), 1),
                                        (ImportWave("colonialambient_6"), 1),
                                        (ImportWave("colonialambient_7"), 1),
                                        (ImportWave("colonialambient_8"), 1),
                                        (ImportWave("colonialambient_9"), 1)
                                    ])))
                                ));

//BSG sounds
Right below the lines that say:

//
// Wars Sounds - End
//

And this:

Code: Select all

    (417, ColonialStarbaseInternalSound),
Above the line that says '(418, EStarbaseInternalSound),'

The second option is to revert your quickchat.mdl file to the original.

To anyone that has made a chat pack: Please add the lines indicated to your sounddef.mdl file at the appropriate places.

To all: I apologize for the problems you may have had, it was an oversight that I failed to take into consideration enough. It will not happen again

Solaria, I know this isnt the right topic, but I have a problem after the update, and I tried everything even reinstalling alleg all over again, wich means I was running with no chatpaks installed and I still have the Exception_acces_violation error.
So its needed to add this lines at all?

I know this is going to be a strange question, but did you have an update done for the .NET stuff? I had a problem with it, so it could be part of yours.

Note I said most custom chat packs won't work. The ones that use the regular ones (Such as TE's chatpack) won't be effected because they are the normal defined ones. If it imports new files then it should be broken. Alternatively, you may not have the BSG stuff in there, meaning that alleg will crash once you launch a game in the Battlestar Galactica core.

Archangelus - This doesn't seem to be anything with the core. Are you uninstalling before reinstalling?
