critical review of the zone game
We have a new Event Zone Leader who hasn't been at his desk for more than a week. He barely had enough time to announce the ZG let alone plan for it appropriately.
I agree there were problems, but I acknowledge that they exist because of the lack of time available for planning the event properly. You should too.
The next one will likely be very well organized.

I fully agree Psych, don't worry, the next one shouldn't creep up on us like this one did.
There'll be a more or less autonomous ZG Coordinator who will arrange the ingame details in advance to ensure that nothing is as rushed as it was today. That'll include advertising and setting up the game properly.
Once Tiger has been through setting up a new event with me I'll be able to use the YvB functionality to get proper games sorted so no more autobalance, at least until Alleg Skill is working properly.

Speaking as someone relatively new to the game...
I had fun!
There were some good elements to the game too. Sure, it got one sided quickly. Sure, there was confusion for new players joining part way, not realising there were allies.
but, three of the four teams were playing factions I'd like to see more of... Belters and Rixian don't seem often picked outside of the newbie games.
The 2 vs 2 element, whilst confusing and difficult to pick targets when frequently the "target closest enemy" button would pick a scout who might be trying to nan you... Was fun.
Just as a drop in player who doesn't know lots about the game yet... It went well enough.
Perhaps I'll be able to look back at it more critically when I know more about the game, but there were a good few rookie pilots in there, and I'm pretty sure they all enjoyed it too.
If there's another game due in two weeks I'll be doing my best to be there /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

One thing I can 100% ensure you: AB was NOT ON during the game (since that was the first thing I switched off after I pressed the randomize button).
Also.. I am wondering why you didn't complain about your team before the game start?
btw: In the past ZG it was seen that ASGS polls did not solved the problem of uneven teams either. (remember the last IC vs Rix? Rix was badly stacked. With many vets assigned to IC not showing up).
But here a few things I agree on:
- maybe no multi teamer next time?
- it helps to have the zg map on the server /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
- maybe allow defections so the defeated teams can join?
Oh and of course I feel sorry for those people who got podded due to Psychosis mistakes as well! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

a) Get a Sup dis2 EnhFigs/Exp mini2 and camp?
b) Get anti SY Tac tech and camp?
c) Try to bomb it with basic bomber? (..and blaim your team after it fails!)
