Windows Version (and Service Packs): XP Home, SP2
Processor Speed: Celeron 1.7
RAM: 256k
Video Card (Make and Model#):Nvidia G-Force 2 MX200
Sound Card (Make and Model#):Soundmax on board
Connection Type (Dialup, Cable, DSL, other):DSL
Modem (Make and Model#):
Router (Make and Model#):
Internet Service Provider(company name): Sasktel
Location(State/Province/Locality, and Country): Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
Installed Mods: none

Problem Encountered at Step #: (read the "What Should Happen" for this step#): 6, 8, 10, 12
Which Program (ASGS/Allegiance): Allegiance
What Error Message: none.
Comments (What you tried, description, etc):
Click the "Free Games" button, (step 6), and the sound effect starts repeating. Click the "Current games listing" button, (step 8), and now I have 2 sound effects repeating. Click the "Join Game" button, (step 10)... you get the point. By the time I'm in game I have this sound effect repeating itself 6 times over. Keeps on repeating in base in the game. Tried rebooting. Still annoying. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Allegiance. Gets even more annoying. I just can't see playing with the sound shut off as this problem got to be using up hardware and software resources in a machine that's already marginal at best.

Thanx for your help

There's a setting within Allegiance... under the ESC menu... I don't have Alleg open at the time, so I can't check the exact menu. Look for hardware or sound acceleration. Toggle it on or off and see how that works for you.

Sorta fixed it. Toggling hardware acceleration on or off stops the repeating until I click another button. /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />

Change the sound engine. ESC -> S -> DirectSound New/Old.
