Is it possible to use two joysticks in Alleg?
Say you have one mapped to normal controls and some buttons, and the other one mapped to, say, thrusters. (A 3-axis stick would serve well) and some other buttons.
Personally, I doubt I would use a config like that, but it could be interesing

First guess, probably not. We don't even have support for the scroll wheel, remember? /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

True.
It is possible though, just not as straight-up joysticks. There are programs that'll take joystick input and put it as a keyboard. So you just map the joystick inputs to the keys you want.

That's what I was gonna say, but it seems wasteful to map your second joystick's X and Y axis to just on/off keyboard keys, wouldn't it?

yes, it would. But you could also map it to the mouse. So you could have your mouse set to the thrusters or whatever

i don't think it would be comfortable. my brain is already using most of it's concious power to aim, i don't think i could handle two sticks.

A friend of mine, back in 2000, used this:

And flight-pedals, where he mapped the ship rotation.
He actually had enough buttons so that he never had to touch the keyboard and only removed his hands form stick & throttle when he needed to use a mouse. (I'm trying to lure him back into the game now)
