Guys!

I wonder if anyone is aware of something I just found:

i32 Multiplay.co.uk Event

Multiplay.co.uk is hosting a large multigame LAN event in the UK, "bring your own computer", or just "turn up and play"

Dates: 09:00 Friday 9th November to 16:00 Monday 12th November 2007
Venue: Newbury Racecourse & Conference centre, Newbury, Berkshire, RG14 7NZ, England
Cost: £80 for BYOC Participant / £30 for TUP / £10 per day Spectator
Capacity: 1,056 BYOC

It is 2hrs Train ride from me, so I am going to be there and play CS:S and TF2...BUT...and heres the cruncher:

THEY ARE PLAYING ALLEGIANCE!!!!
As a free game everyone can play, a Big game to take up time while in between tournaments:
Schedule

Wow!! Is anyone aware of this? What version will they be using! will it be ASGS??

OMFG, what an event to get new ppl interested in Allegiance!

I hope they figured out how to get a server running before hand.

Also, can you imagine multiple full 150 person servers filled completely first time players? The headache alone would kill me. Kinda glad I don't live in the UK

OMG 1500 newbies online! Do we even have enough server capacity for 1500 ppl? Oh, wait, they'll prolly run their own LAN server... Anyway, that's 1500 potential recruits... Hell of a CDT class /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

huh. That would be pretty sweet if a lot of people like it... then again...

sounds like it should be one hell of a gathering, lots of good games in that list, with allegiance on top, of course.

1500 cadets?

I resign! Seriously.

Poor Foid and BV will prolly go jump off a cliff too.

Some of our UKers should head on over and help those guys out or something. Spread the Gospel of the Sgt_Baker!

It seems they have played large Allegiance games at a previous event (i24):

Yeah, they must use an old version, and host a LAN game, hmm I wonder, I'll try to get the event captured on Fraps so you guys can see /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Are you guys aware that this has been done before? Shouldn't they contact our admins to get the latest versions?

I'll try and get new ppl interested in playing online to come here /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":iluv:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" />

I'm looking foward to the tournaments /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

I have just spoken to the guys running the tournament on the phone, apparently they will be running their own in house server so all of the machines will be effectively on a mini internet, from reading the forums about allegiance players have been told to download the latest version and create asgs accounts. It seems to me it is gonna be a case of them creating an i32 server like eu or planet and only people at the event with their machines connected to this server.
