Comments (What you tried, description, etc): I'm on a 32bit color only i dunno if this has to do with anything, and I've changed compability to XP, and tried 98. I'm on admin status and i tried uninstalling Norton and then installed McAfee disabled firewall, still failed so i uninstalled McAfee and tried it but still failed to connect to server. I dont know if the campus router is causing the problem or not though, anyone has an idea how to find out if it is then tell me please

You forgot to include one tiny detail - what edition of Vista are you using?

it would be home edition, and i found that UPnP does not work here, would that have to do with anything?

It shouldn't seeing that R3 fixed the UPnP problem...for the most part.

No, R3 did not fix anything UPnP related. It fixed the port forwarding troubles.

The fact that UPnP does not work on Home Edition may be a clue to why Alleg won't work on that edition of Vista.

Alleg uses UPnP? I was sorta convinced it was all pure TCP/IP with no facade framework o.0

I'm having the identical problem with Home Vista as well, on my laptop using wireless. My desktop works fine with Alleg. Tried all the same things and I've changed pretty much every setting possible on my router so I don't think that's it. Let me know if you actually get it working, Dutch.

I just upgraded boxes for my home computer and went with vista home premium. Could not connect to server. It had McAffee. I uninstalled that and could connect. I put on Norton. Did not work. I upgraded to vista Ultimate, still not go. I uninstalled Norton and installed AVG and can now connect.

My theory is that it is Norton and McAffee with Vista of any version. I had xp pro before with Norton and had no problems.
