Which factions belong to whom? By this i mean who created and/or whom do you need permission to use what ships/bases they designed?

the reason i ask is because i dont wanna step on any toes, even if its something i'm not taking seriously /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

I know some of them are from original, like Crimson....oops i mean GigaCorp, and like Bios, but im having a hard time placing the others. A little info please? /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

edit: to be a little more precise, i was thinking about something involving "infected" ships ala Homeworld:Cataclysm. Not in the converting way, but in a faction sort of theme (which would combine multiple factions ships)

Okay, I might be wrong, but as far as I know:
tf and dreg created by Vegeta.
nix created by Noir.
GT bases done by Orion ?
Effix by ?

That's not 100% correct, lecef (oldgb) did his part too, but he doesn't care anymore.

Is everything except the Nix models and textures the intellectual property of the FreeAllegiance community? How about the Nix sounds, DN icons, etc? Or, is all of Noir's work still his IP?

Best way to answer that question is, Ask the creator if you want to use there work.

IIRC(And its been awhile since I have read the MSR-SSLA)
MS freely gains all rights to the software and data
All derivative works must be released under the MSR-SSLA

And being that all resources(except sounds) are stored in the original ms formats they would probably considered modifications of the original data .

<<<Has no knowledge of law... but the MSR-SSLA is actually quite simple and very broad

But ya... ask first anyway

Asheron, please dont start this conversation again. It's been done to death. If you want to use someones work ask them nicely. Ignore all the legal rigmaroll. If they like you they will let you, if they dont, they wont. Simple as that.
