Did anyone think about a Battlestar Galactica Core yet?
I mean, it could be a basic core without advanced tech with Battlestar Galactica and a Cylon Basestar as the main garrison models, the heavy raider and the raptors as bombers and the rest fighters/(with nans)
Obviously the BSG universe lacks the variety of ships to support a real Allegiance core, but I still think it could be fun..
Well whatever, maybe someone with the model and modding skills is reading this and thinks "zomg BSG Core w00t"
BSG Core

Is it possible to give a turret more than one weapon, or would that require a code change?
need code change for mobile bases

Well,
I have started modeling the small ships for the Colonial Fleet. There are more than you might think that we could use:
BSG Schematics
I have modelled 4 diferent versions of the small Colonial Fighters so far:
http://www.shipschematics.net/bsg/images/c..._mk1_proto1.jpg (Scout?)
http://www.shipschematics.net/bsg/images/c...r_viper_mk1.gif (Fighter?)
http://www.shipschematics.net/bsg/images/c...fighter_asp.jpg (Gunship?)
http://www.shipschematics.net/bsg/images/c...ter_asp_mk2.jpg (Advanced Gunship?)
Modeling is done, I'll post some images tonight, they are not exactly the same
I am looking foward to attempting to unwrap and texture them
I will be working on these 2 next:
http://www.shipschematics.net/bsg/images/c...corpion_mk1.jpg (Interceptor?)
http://www.shipschematics.net/bsg/images/c...corpion_mk2.jpg (Heavy Interceptor?)
I agree Mobile Bases would be the best way to make this BSG like, however, it is not necessarily essential, we could just use normal Base sytle gameplay and make the Capital ships a part of the game play, but make the focus on large fleets of small ships I think (make them easily researchable but very expensive?)
Also, mobile bases changes the core gameplay of Allegiance a great deal, I mean, what is to stop the commander just moving his entire fleet (garrison, shipyard etc) in to the enemies miner or home sector and cutting them off/whoring them silly untill they give up? Or how silly would it be to play a little catch as one fleet chases another around the map?
All I'm saying is: Do we really want mobile bases?
