Ok, firstly Vangaurds.. what?! Belter adv figs dis 3 hull 2 galves and dumb 3 just couldn't even live for longer than 10 seconds. this was in a PKvs BS game
Also there is been lots of talk with Gunships lately as well. I've been thinking long on this and I've noticed correlations
the only Long range Guns that were originally suppose to be implemented for the Pilot was the Sniper for the SF. AC/miniAC was never intended for pilot use. So I'm thinking that a new idea for Guns on pilot armaments for Gunships, Vanguards, even Mustangs.
Keep their turrets if they have turrets and shorten their range ffs. This is the main factor. GS very viable with turrets but becuase of their Mini AC the pilots often don't take the time for turrets. I've often thought perhaps loading 4 gattling guns to make a wide spread affect would be more effective and more plausible. Consider this. your doing 80-100 with miniAC from 1000 away. instead I think since the maneuverability of gunships is slow give em a short range gun, wide spread and suitable damage. Mini AC should be used for turrets and turrets only.
Ideas for fixing Gunship4 gatling guns on frontal mountsNew weapon (Frontal cannons low acuracy fast rate of fire, (range 500ish-800ish) Damage not too high, it's additional fire not primary.Another question, if you had in my second option 4 mounted guns that were essential used as a flak shield, could you put AOE on them and use them to guard against missiles, becuase that would be a very neat idea as well. Use a fast fast of fire very wide spread (4 cannon mounts) low damage. something like 20 -30 damage. this would make a wall of sorts around a part of your ship.
I'm really going off here but please read this and take it seriously. I'm simply thinking atm Vangaurds Completely outclass some adv ships with all the sides & trimmings.
Secondly Gunships are not supposed to be viable as a single manned ship. Make the pilot's job that of support and you bring the gunship back into the game.
