It seems that something recent has changed on Alleg. for me. I haven't installed any new drivers nor new programs on my computer, but my mouse has been really screwing up the past week or two... to the point that I really cannot play.

Windows Version (and Service Packs): Windows XP
Processor Speed: 1.8GHz
RAM: 896MB
Video Card (Make and Model#): NVidia GeForce 6200
Sound Card (Make and Model#): Intergrated Sound
Connection Type (Dialup, Cable, DSL, other): Cable
Modem (Make and Model#): n/a
Router (Make and Model#): Netgear WGT624
Internet Service Provider(company name): Roadrunner (Time Warner)
Location(State/Province/Locality, and Country): Texas
Installed Mods: First voicepack mod from years ago

Problem Encountered at Step #: First noticeable at attempts to click "Free Games"
Which Program (ASGS/Allegiance): Allegiance
What Error Message: none
Comments (What you tried, description, etc): Have tried windowd and full screen modes. Full computer reset. Virus scan.

OK.. so it seems that Alleg is confused about what the clicks on my mouse mean. Single clicking "Free Games" yields nothing.. but clicking several times in rapid succession will eventually register and it will let me into the games listing. Single clicking on any game takes me to that game (what used to take double clicking). When on NOAT, single clicking any team acts as a double click and has me join (or attempt to join) that team. Pop up windows, such as the ones for exiting Alleg, or that it is not possible to join a team due to balance, click 'OK', requires the rapid spamming of the mouse button to register.
Once in the game.. it again takes massive mouse hits to interface to change sectors, go to the ship selection, launch. Similarly the drop down menus (ie Tech/Investment displays) take repeated mouse taps to change the windows there. Flight inputs (shooting guns etc), and weapon selection (once I get to the ship selection, and ship model) seem to still work fine.

I was hoping it was an isolated event that occured a few days back, but it is still happening today. I did a search in the forums but could not find a problem that read as similar to mine, nor did I see it in the common issues thread. Help me out yo!

What kind of mouse is it? USB/PS2? And how old is it? I've had mice do odd things when they start to die.

And have you tried the uninstall drivers/re-install drivers? This only works for a usb mouse, and all you have to do to re-install is unplug it and plug it back in.

Also, have you tried using a different mouse?

Its a Logitech MX400 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_ ... 1&cl=us,en)

USB mouse... About 1 year old.

Disconneted it and reconneted it per suggestion, but with no luck. Will see if I have a spare mouse lying around to try a switch... I am doubful that it is a driver issue since I was playing the game a week ago with no software or hardware changes done, but I will look into it as a what-if. I have also been able to play other games without issues (EQ, FEAR, etc).

Driver is up to date according to Logitech

Also, tried an old rollerball mouse.. same issue when interfacing the first few clicks (Free Games, Games List, etc)

andon, its an MX400, precursor to the greatest mouse EVER (( MX500 ))

sounds like alleg is glitching interpreting the commands of the mouse, suggest reinstall or alleg, or try a repair

Hmm. Gotta make people use that command more often then. Marking this as solved.
