A Shizoku Story

So I'm in a game the other night...watching the stars SLOWLY drift by from my pod as usual, when I hear, "Hold on, I gotcha". I look up and see the command is coming from Shiz. I look behind me to see who he was talking to, but there were no other pods in the sector. I couldn't believe it! This was SHIZOKU - one of the great players of the game - and he was gonna pick up little old me, fishbone@CDT-B!! Did I mention @CDT-B? This was an honor...like having aarmstrong say ,"Nice Work" or getting podded by Weedman. So I hit <Insert> at about 1700m away and he is waiting there...Shiz is waiting for me /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />!

When I get to about 650m I can taste the glory. Me and Shiz sittin' around the table in the Garri, drinkin' cold ones, swapping stories of courage and pilot technique.

At 300m I see his boosters fire and he heads out of view. I turn to watch and there is an enemy int about 1500m away. Pheww! He wasn't leaving me, he was just makin' it safe for when he turns back around to pick up his good ol' buddy fish.
I watched as he made minced meat of the attacker - podded the poor sap in like 5 seconds. That's my pal, SHIZ! Alright, now for the big turn and I'm ready for the pickup....

But he immediately vectored towards another enemy int about 1000m further from the last one. Well, 2500m or so is still close enough that it may interfere when my newest, bestest buddy and teammate, Shiz, comes back to give me a ride home, right? I watched as he put a severe a$$ beating on the guy and a third enemy int that joined the fray. The third guy lasted about 2 seconds, and I got to watch as Shiz pounded him into a marvelous sihlouette of an explosion with the aleph in the background. WOW! not only am I gonna get my pickup, but I got to see the man single-handedly destroy 3 bad guys without a scratch to his hull.

Then I saw something I'll never forget....Shiz continued toward the aleph and I watched as his ship disappeared in a luminous blue twinkle.

I HATE people who say they will pick you up and then boost away from you when you get within 100-500 of them. Just don't bother saying you will pick up ffs.
